Ontario Parks Pass Library Lending Program

Spending time in nature is good for you. We feel this every time we step outside to hike, camp, paddle, or just be in natural spaces. Did you know you can borrow a daily vehicle permit free of charge from your local library?

With a borrowing time of seven (7) days, the Ontario Parks Pass will give you full day-use access to any of the 340 Ontario Provincial Parks!

Simply visit the Marathon Public Library to checkout the pass just like a book and start enjoying the wonderful benefits of nature!

Tackle Share Loaning Site

Did you know that the Marathon Public Library is a tackle share loaning site?
Initiated by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) and proudly sponsored by Ontario Power Generation, the Tackle Share Program gives new and young anglers the opportunity to go fishing at no cost. There are many barriers to introducing new anglers to fishing on today’s waters. Tackle Share removes these barriers by providing the equipment and knowledge to get them started. Participating anglers simply sign out a rod and reel, as well as an assortment of tackle in the same way that they would borrow library materials.

Ontario Fishing Regulations

In partnership with the Ontario Learn to Fish program, the Marathon Public Library is offering FREE copies of the 2022 Ontario Fishing Regulations!
Regulation booklets are available in both official languages.
What is the Ontario Fishing Regulations?
The Ontario fishing regulations is an annual guide to the rules and regulations for recreational fishing in Ontario. It contains information about recreational fishing licences, open seasons and catch limits, as well as up-to-date fishing regulations for each fishing zone.
